Project Task 2
Entertainment
Its ideas followed by rationale.
1. Television.
Specifically how users’ entertainment can be improved through various means.
Before, People watched stop motion videos and soap operas. Now, people watch high-def videos with CG.
2. Advances in technology has enabled producers to express their creativity in more ways than one
Many ideas can be generated as the topic can be branched out into many different sub topics.
3. People are staying at home to watch more TV. Advertisers earn more money as their advertisements are given more exposure.
Able to be linked to how bad the impact is to the society
4. Can be able to inform the public not to watch too much TV. Show how unhealthy it is to watch in excess.
Many kids and/or teenagers are addicted to the television. Many resources are available to support this statement.
5. Broadcast small ‘advertisements’ on the TV that advises the users not to watch too much.
The easiest and most effective way to grab the users’ attention.

Project Task 2: Entertainment

- Identify one medium of entertainment
Internet
Rationale: Widely accessible across the world, and it has became the most commonly used communication technology.
- State the nature of the change that the medium has undergone
The speed of internet is improving. People no longer use internet just for research purposes, but also for other agendas like business, check emails, etc.
Rationale: Technology has tremendously advanced in today's 21st Century. People find it convenient to complete tasks online as wireless network is accessible almost everywhere in cafes, office and school.
- Impact of the change has been on the community
Good: Assignments can be completed efficiently and effectively at a faster pace in school and work, news can be publicised immediately, important statistics and data can be retrieved and downloaded accurately, people can also enjoy the luxury of entertainment online through latest pop music and movies.
Bad: Viruses attack computer, which in turns makes assignments more time-consuming or even irreplacable computer data loss. Some people who cannot afford to invest in a computer is unable to enjoy such luxuries of convenience, and hence is crippled of internet benefits.
Rationale: The speed of technology allows people to use the world wide web for more purposes in life. However, there are also disadvantages and we must take these ideas into consideration. However, internet is still widely used despite its disadvantages as its attractive benefits have overwhelmed those disadvantages.
- Suggest how the impact of the change can be drawn to the attention of the public
Publish more advertisements regarding good healthy habits, advertisers can earn revenue at the same time, thus creating win-win situation.
Rationale: With decent publicity, people tend to feel safe and secure in using the product, hence with advertisements regarding good practices, it will draw attention.
- Planning an event
Create creative short clips promoting internet campaigns, and proper use of internet.
Rationale: Educating people on how to use internet safely and correctly.
